Making 10 using the magnetic 10s frames

While we were learning about number bonds to 10 we also looked at the patterns that happen when we change the 2 addends around. We discovered that the answer stayed the same.

One of the most important things we learn in our classroom is how to work with our friends to complete puzzles and games. This means we have to share our thinking and listen to other children's ideas. Sometimes it can be hard but it is important to learn that other people have good ideas. Think Pair Share is one of the ways we can learn to work together.

Molly is new to our room. Molly is using the magnetic letters to see if she can find the letters in her name.

 

 

 

We made toast. Bread CHANGES into toast when you put it into a toaster.

Once we had made the toast we had to use what we knew about shapes and cut our toast into different shapes. have a look at the way the children have tried to make different shapes when they cut up their toast. I can see triangles, rectangles and squares.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Chloe's iPad

Chloe uses an iPad to help her write her stories. Chloe uses an App called clicker Sentences. 

Adding using counting on

Hugh was using 2 dice to practice his counting on. He is getting really confident at forming his numbers correctly and working out the answers by counting on. Great work Hugh.

Basketball skills with our special coach Clifton

We were very lucky to have Clifton Bush come to our school to teach us how to throw and catch a basket ball.

Sophie has jumped so high to try a shoot a basket.

Ben and Felix are aiming for the basket.                

Tessa is getting down low to try and make her shot at goal a successful shot. Fenella is leaping up high. Her arms are out stretched....I wonder if she got the ball into the basket?

We talked about height at the end and we could easily tell that Clifton was taller than Chloe. Chloe is the shortest person in our class. We had talked about taller and shorter in our Maths.

Thanks Clifton for coming and teaching us all so many new large ball skills. 

Popcorn
